Newcastle ‘to offer Marcus Rashford escape route’ from Man Utd nightmare

The international attacker of England, Marcus Rashford, is still expected to leave Manchester United this summer, despite his switch from Aston Villa Loan, who does not lead to a permanent move

Newcastle United could give Marcus Rashford a route back to the Champions League. The time of the Manchester United Forward at Old Trafford seems to be up, but his options are limited.

Barcelona was considered the preference of Rashfird, but the Catalan club has viewed other goals. Nico Williams and Luis Diaz are high on their list, with Williams who looks bigger at the time of writing.

Rashford was under the loan in Aston Villa in the second half of last season. A move back to Villa Park, however, seems unlikely after the side of Unai Emery had missed the Champions League qualification on the last day of the season.

It was Newcastle who took the last Champions League spot from the Premier League and ended up on a target difference. And now, according to the sun, they could be the ones who have handed Rashford a shot on European football.

Thintw may not be very easy. The same publication suggests that Newcastle pursues a seasonal loan agreement, while its current employers prefer a permanent sale.

Rashford scored four goals in 17 Villa performances and also offered six assists. Two of those goals came to the Premier League when the men of Emery insisted on a top five finish, but he missed the last few games of the season after picking up a hamstring injury.

“Just a message of thanks to everyone here at Villa for what (aside of the injury) has been an incredible few months for me,” he wrote on Instagram after the last weekend of the season. “It is a really special club and I appreciated the way Villa fans embraced me on the field with open arms from 1st minute.

“Manager, team and coaching staff have all been brilliant. I know it is a huge disappointment not to have made the Champions League spot that everyone worked so hard for the entire season, but I know this club and the team will be stronger.”

Rashford is in the contract with Manchester United until 2028, but is not expected to stay with the club. In December, the month in which he made his most recent appearance for his boys' club, he spoke about a desire for a new challenge.

“For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps,” the English international was quoted by Henry Winter. “If I go away, it will be 'no hard feelings'. You will not have any negative comments about Manchester United. That is as a person.

“If I know that a situation is already bad, I will not make it worse. I have seen how other players have left in the past and I don't want to be that person. If I leave, I will make a statement and it will be mine.”
