Trent Alexander-Arnold has revealed that he learned 'a few months' Spanish after his debut for Real Madrid in the Club World Cup.
The English star shocked fans of his former club Liverpool when he appealed to family, friends and the media during his revelation as a Madrid player last week.
After a difficult first appearance for Los Blancos, the right back was asked about his language talents by different points of sale and he revealed that he had learned Spanish pending the move to Madrid.
“I learned Spanish for a few months,” he told Dazn. 'When I knew I would come, I wanted to learn to adjust.
'New country, new team and new city … It is important to show that you are planning to adapt as well as possible to the culture. That's what I do. '
Since he spent his entire career on Merseyside, many expected Alexander-Arnold to start life in Spain with little to no knowledge of the language.
Many, however, stayed astonished last week when the former vice-captain of Reds gave his entire address in Spanish, which showed that it is 'a dream come true' to become a member of the 15-way European champions.
Parts of Liverpool's believers, and many football fan in general, have been asked how Alexander-Arnold is so good at home in speaking the language, since he only decided to leave Anfield in March.
Liverpool Fan Media Outlet, Redmen TV, wrote: “Impressive for a boy who really decided only in March.”
In the meantime, another insinuated that Alexander-Arnold is clearly planning to leave the Reds longer than it seemed.
They wrote: “This man has been planning this step for a while !!” Another red taught to agree: “Of course Trent should be, if you plan for this step for almost 2 years.”
After Madrid's 1-1 draw with Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal in Miami, Alexander-Arnold insisted that he knows that he “made the right decision” to move to the Bernabeu.
'It's the first time I have moved clubs, so I didn't know what to expect. I had no expectations in this, “he said Mail Sport.
“It's a big change and it's different, but I love every minute and in my mind and my heart, I know I have made the right decision for me.”
