Everton could focus Manchester United in the summer transfer window and one player would be a 'perfect match' for David Moyes if the Toffees would get a deal over the line
Everton should focus on a summer movement for Manchester United Forward Rasmus Hojlund according to their former player Pat Nevin. Hojlund has endured two difficult seasons since he came to the Red Devils in a £ 72 million deal from Atalanta.
The 22-year-old scored 10 goals in 52 performances in the past term when United struggled to find the net and 16 goals in 43 outings during his debut season in 2023/24. Ruben Amorim wants to strengthen his forward line this summer and Matheus Cunha has already added Van Wolves, and the will of Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen coupled to transfers.
Nevin, who played 150 games for the Toffees and scored 21 goals, thinks David Moyes could praise the Denmark International from Old Trafford on loan. And he believes that the Everton boss will find a player who is well suited for his style.
Moyes will find a striker while Dominic Calvert-Lewin's contract will get up at the end of June. And Nevin thinks that the perfect solution is there.
Spinish with Spin Genie, the former Schotland International Moyes has encouraged to take a step. “There are some good names that are there,” said Nevin.
“The loan market is something that Everton has looked at in the past and I think it is something that they have to visit again. It gives them all kinds of possibilities because they do not spend £ 50 million.
“There are two or three players they could think of from Manchester United, but Rasmus Hojlund is the one who sticks out. If you look at his playing style, it is a perfect match with how David Moyes likes to play. Although his songs have not been great this season, Moyes you can never complain about Hard Werkers about it.
“It is not so often that David Moyes has had 20-30 goals per season. He has had strikers that run behind and create space to bring others into play, so if he is available, Hojlund could be a seductive option for Everton to sign on loan.”
Everton already missed Liam Delap this summer, after the striker had arrived at Chelsea. Moyes has admitted that the toffees should find more success to enjoy the transfer market for an easier time.
“Players, if they have the chance, want to play in the Champions League. I just came from a club (West Ham United) where three of the four years we have played in Europe and what a difference makes it when you are a club in Europe because the players are attracted, what the European competition is, is attractive to many players and a big difference,” he said.
'We are not on that at the moment, so I don't know if I can compare ourselves to selling Wayne [Rooney] But we were always a club that didn't have much money. We had to generate some money ourselves.
“But then the club had £ 500 million to spend and in that period and I don't think it was as good as when we carefully spending and a little wiser.”
