Carlos Cuesta has been appointed as Parma's new head coach, the club announced on Thursday.
Cuesta leaves his role as assistant coach of Mikel Arteta at Arsenal to play his first management role.
The 29-year-old replaces Cristian Chivu, who after just four months left Parma to follow Simone Inzaghi in Inter.
Cuesta spent almost five years in Arsenal after participating in the Juventus youth academy and won the Shield Community twice, in 2020 and 2023.

“After five beautiful years it is difficult to put this into words, but I can only express how grateful I am because I have lived my daily people with such special people and feel what it means to represent this football club, with his incredible history and values,” Cuesta said on Instagram.
“All I have ever tried to do was giving everything I had in me every day. I was inspired by the culture created, by the hunger of every person of the organization and the unity we were in every situation we were dealing with.
“It was a privilege to have had the opportunity to work with the players, employees, directors and all employees of the club and at the same time receive an extra push from our great fans in every game.
“Because of the quality of his people, I am convinced that the best moments for this football club still have to come. Enjoy the journey, because it is a very exciting one.”
