Cole Palmer has revealed the reason why he is wearing a face mask while traveling, after being seen with his landing with his Chelsea side for the club world in the disposal of the disposable covering.
Palmer stuck Vers from International Service with England to the first training base of the club in Philadelphia to the United States.
From there, the team moved to Atlanta prior to their first match of the campaign against Los Angeles FC.
The blues won the collision 2-0 for a predominantly empty Mercedes-Benz Arena, with only 22,000 fans in the location of 75,000 capacity.
But prior to the draw, Palmer noticed about his somewhat unusual travel arrangement instead of his form, in which reporters wanted to learn or the star in health.
When asked why he had worn a mask on his way to America, Palmer revealed that he had not had it because of illness, or for a smile.
“It wasn't a joke, I just don't like the smell of planes,” said Palmer. “So that's why I wear a mask.
'When I travel, I feel like the scents and that, I just don't like them.
“Things like (the air conditioning), so that's why I wear masks, not something else.”
Palmer added that he had not told his 'teammate Enzo Fernandez', who suggested that it might be a joke if he was asked for the clothing earlier.
The 23-year-old distinguished himself against MLS opposition on Monday evening, but his head coach Enzo Maresca revealed after the collision that he would like to continue to push his star player after having shared that he was 'sick' of playing style in the triumphant UEFA Conference League final of the team.
“I had a short conversation with Cole and I told him that I really liked the way he was today,” Maresca told reporters. “He took responsibility, showed the initiative about the ball.
“He tried to receive the ball, to go one-V-one against players, and this is the Cole we expect.
'After the final of the Conference League, he said he was bored when he received the ball, so he decided to do something else.
'The day after that interview I told him he could do it from the first minute and why did he wait so long? Why not do the same after a minute?
“Today he did that exactly, and we are happy when he does. I have often said that Cole is our best player, a top player, and hopefully he can continue to do the right things. '
Maresca will hope that his new NO10 will show a similar initiative in the second group phase on the side on Friday evening.
The West-London outfit will play Brazilian Giants Flamengo on Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia in the second of three round-Robin tires.
