Real Madrid has tried to find a way for most of the past year to ensure that they can organize concerts in the Santiago Bernabeu, since they were banned. It is described as 'minor' in terms of the financial impact, but in the meantime Atletico Madrid has taken the same concerts and earned millions from the events.
The issue dates from the summer of 2024. With the renovation work at the Bernabeu Complete, Real Madrid began to organize concerts in their stadium, of which the most speeching run was for Taylor Swift. A Union of Buren from the surrounding areas that have been grouped to file a complaint to the council that the concerts were contrary to noise regulations due to the high decibel levels.
This was a problem that was either ignored or not provided by Los Blancos, and in the past year Real Madrid investigated the sound insulation of the stadium and possibly tried to lower the sound levels. They received a reimbursement of € 20-25 million to do this, but it seems that there is no guarantee that this will sufficiently block the sound for the surrounding areas. In the meantime, Atletico Madrid offered the Metropolitano for concerts for people like Lola Indigo and more recently, Bad Bunny.
However, according to Cadena Cope, the president of the regional government of Madrid, Isabel Diaz Ayuso, has channeled her efforts to resolve the case. She has set the interior consultant to study the matter and look at changing the law that arranges the noise levels.
It would change the current regulations to increase the permitted decibel level and to ensure that the regulations take into account an average noise level instead of the peak of the noise level. This in theory would allow concerts to take place again in the Bernabeu, while the government would ensure that heavy security and cleaning activities were present to appease the local residents.
