Real Madrid has already made three summer signs in Dean Huijsen, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Franco Mastantuono, but more is expected to arrive after the club World Cup was completed in July. Paz was sold last summer by Real Madrid to Serie A Side Como, where he was very impressive during the 2024-25 season. He scored six goals and gave eight assists during 35 performances, while his general performances were also good. And as such, this has led to the interest in his services grows.
The will of Inter and Arsenal have been linked in recent weeks, and now a new name has emerged: Bayer Leverkusen. According to Florian Plettenburg, the Bundesliga side Paz has on their list of goals to replace Liverpool-bound Florian Wirtz.
Real Madrid has the option to sign PAZ again this summer for a bargain price of € 8 million. And although reports have suggested that they will want to do this, it is unlikely that it will happen until mid -July when the club World Cup is over. As such, Leverkusen would have an advantage in attempt to negotiate with Como.
Paz has shown his potential in the last 12 months, but it must be reminded that Real Madrid has an abundance of attacking midfielders. Xabi Alonso has Jude Bellingham, Arda Guler, Brahim Diaz and now Mastantuono to choose from, which means that Paz is not particularly necessary at the Bernabeu.
Nevertheless, Real Madrid could activate the back-back clause before selling PAZ for a considerable profit. And if this were the case, Leverkusen would have the chance to close a deal, especially because they will have a lot of money after selling Wirtz.
