England fans hail Walker for dealing with Ireland star ‘like a playful child’

ENGLAND star Kyle Walker dragged Jayson Molumby back to his feet after the Irish star's skirmish with Harry Kane.

The flashpoint occurred just before half-time, when the two sides faced off in the Nations League.

Three Lions skipper Kane, 31, came deep to collect the ball.

When he passed it on to a teammate, the Bayern Munich forward became dissatisfied with the attention he was receiving from Molumby.

After the West Brom midfielder grabbed the England man, Kane pushed him away.

Molumby, 25, went down theatrically and appeared to grab his face.

While the referee had a word with Kane, his teammate Walker pulled Molumby back to his feet.

The issue was then resolved by the referee, who booked both Kane and Molumby.

Fans loved Walker's reaction to the incident.

One wrote on X: “That's a perfect analogy for Walker's calm yet dominant moment #ENGIRE.

“It's always funny when a player handles a situation so easily that it seems like he's dealing with a playful child.”

While a second joked: “Walker picks up Molumby like it's his son throwing a tantrum because you won't buy him sweets in the shop.”

A third said something similar: 'Walker picks up Molumby as we all do when our kids have a tantrum in the supermarket.'

And another added: “Molumby's career highlight will be attacking while being embarrassed by Kyle Walker.”

At the time of the incident the score was 0-0.

But after the break the situation deteriorated for Ireland.

Shortly after half-time, Celtic centre-back Liam Scales was shown a second yellow card after giving away a penalty.

Kane calmly converted the penalty in the 53rd minute, and things soon got worse for Ireland.

Anthony Gordon doubled his side's lead just two minutes later, before Conor Gallagher added a third before the hour mark.

Jarrod Bowen added further sparkle to England's victory by making it 4-0 after 76 minutes.

And Taylor Harwood-Bellis added a fifth shortly afterwards.
