Robert Lewandowski will lead the Barcelona attack again next season after rejecting rumors he could leave this summer.
Veteran striker Lewandowski enjoyed his best campaign ever in Catalonia when the 36-year-old went to 101 goals in 147 performances in three seasons.
The 2024/25 campaign also contained its strongest single campaign-long in Spain, with 27 scored in La Liga and 42 in general, barely to Kylian Mbappe in the Golden Boot Race.
However, while he is preparing to turn 37 in the summer, rumors were possible about the club that wanted to move him further.
The decision of Lewandowski not to join the Poland team for their June matches in the FIFA World Cup qualification, caused a wave of controversy that ended in national team boss Michal Probierz resigned.
Lewandowski also told an interview with German Outlet Bild that he is not going to leave Barcelona.
“I won more than 30 titles in my career. But I am ready for more,” he said.
“It's no problem for me. I will stay next season. At the moment I only have Barcelona. Our team will be even better next season.”
The current Barcelona contract from Lewandowski runs until June 2026, but both parties can use an option to extend another 12 months if his performance level is maintained.
Despite the position of Lewandowski, reports from Mundo Deportivo claims in the Saudi Pro League offers to sign him in 2026, as a rival of his expansion option in Barcelona.
No movement will be made before that time, whereby Lewandowski and Barcelona both constantly assess his output, but it is a future option.
There are currently no formal conversations, because Lewandowski focuses on the task that must be performed, but negotiations can open in January or Barcelona chooses to offer an extension in Catalonia.
