TAA makes feelings clear on Slot amid Liverpool contract talks

Trent Alexander-Arnold admits Arne Slot's tactics were 'stunning', with the new Liverpool boss quickly making an impression.

Slot had the unenviable task of replacing Jürgen Klopp in the summer, but has made little effort so far. The Reds are top of the Premier League and already have a comfortable cushion having won all their matches in the Champions League.

The Dutchman has worked exclusively with the squad he inherited but has put his own stamp on it, with Liverpool playing with more control than before.

Alexander-Arnold – who has played against the backdrop of his ongoing contract saga – believes the players have quickly embraced what Slot wants from them and have been able to produce their best football as a result.

He told TNT Sports: “The style he coaches with, the style we play with and the identity we have as a team is something you can see. We all enjoy it, he gets the best out of the players.” , that's all you want as a player. We are all willing to learn to improve.

“That's what you want, he's someone who will coach that into us. As you've seen, the boys bought into it from day one. That's what you need as a new manager, when you have boys willing to learn and to learn.” get feedback, then you are halfway there. The tactics are also amazing. To be honest, I don't think anyone would have said we would be as good as we are.”

Slot does not have the charisma of Jurgen Klopp, who was a household name when he arrived at Anfield in 2015. He is a more modest character but had success at Feyenoord and the Liverpool right-back is not surprised by his impact.

He added: “When I look back on the first few days I met him, it's not that big of a surprise to me now – because of how deep and detailed he is. And the level of detail he goes into really doesn't do that. “It doesn't surprise me that we look so good as a team because he instilled that in us.”

Alexander-Arnold is yet to sign a new contract at Anfield, with the player's contract expiring this summer. There is interest from Real Madrid, but they only want to sign him on a free transfer. Liverpool also have to arrange the contracts of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk in the coming weeks.
