Barcelona wants to add a new attacker to Hansi Flick's options Prior to the 2025-26 season that starts in August, and one of their goals is Marcus Rashford of Manchester United.
Rashford was a priority goal for Barcelona during the winter transfer window, but a deal was considered impossible because the Catalans did not have the salary space that was needed to register him at La Liga. But they have retained their interest, although Nico Williams is the number one target for now.
And Rashford fueled speculation about a move to Barcelona in a recent interview with Xbuyer (via Diario AS), while revealing his wish to play Lamine Yamal in addition to the 17-year sensation.
“Lamine plays in the elite at the age of 17. I don't think we've seen this before. It is hard to describe in words what he does, because he shouldn't do it at 16 or 18. I don't think we've seen this before.
“Of course I would like to (play with him). We all want to play with the best. Hopefully. We will see.”
Rashford also gave his thoughts about whether Lamine Yamal should win the Ballon d'Or from 2025.
“It depends on what they appreciate. If they only appreciate the opportunity to play, I think he can win. But Dembele has the Champions League … It depends on what they are looking at. I would not be disappointed if one of them won it.”
Barcelona such as Rashford, but for now a deal is not a priority because of their desire to sign Williams. But even when the Spain International arrives, the Englishman believes that there would still be a place for him in Catalonia.
