Specifications of the new electric Audi Q6 E-Tron 2024

The 2024 Audi Q6 E-Tron electric model was unveiled, a versatile sports model that can travel up to 625 km on a single charge. This model was delayed by up to two years due to delays related to the electric vehicle platform and software used. It is a joint project with Porsche Macan Electric and is based on the “PPE” platform developed by Audi and Porsche.

It is expected to launch in European markets later this year, with confirmation that it will launch in Australian markets at a later date to be determined.

The Q6 E-Tron will initially be available in two five-seat versions, each equipped with two electric motors and all-wheel drive, in addition to a 94.9 kWh battery (or 100 kWh in total).

The basic version, Q6 E-Tron Quattro, has a power of 285 kilowatts and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and the top speed is 210 km/h. The powerful version, the SQ6 E-Tron Quattro, has a power of 380 kilowatts and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds, with a top speed of 230 km/h.

The comparison shows that the power of these cars is equal to 300 kW / 650 Nm for the electric Macan 4 and 470 kW / 1130 Nm for the electric Macan Turbo, which accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds.

Rumor has it that the regular version of the Q6 can travel up to 625 km on a single charge, while the SQ6 version can travel up to 598 km, thanks to a new generation of electric motors and boosting technologies that provide greater range. up to 40 km, but also smaller and lighter.

In the future, two more rear-wheel drive versions will be launched, with the first model having a lower capacity battery of 83 kWh, while the second model is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 94.9 kWh, providing a significantly larger driving range compared to other models. on the first versions offered on the market.

The “PPE” personal protective equipment platform has been developed to operate on the 800 volt system, allowing the use of DC fast charging with a capacity of up to 270 kW. This technology allows the battery to be charged from 10% to 80% in just 21 minutes using a compatible plug, ensuring users a fast and highly efficient charging process.

When connected to a 400-volt fast-charging station, the Audi Q6 E-Tron supports 'dual charging', which automatically splits the 800-volt battery into two equal halves, allowing them to be charged in parallel with up to 135 kW.

Home AC charging is also possible, as is energy recovery via a regenerative braking system that can recover up to 220 kW of energy during braking.

The Audi Q6 E-Tron measures 4,771 mm long, 1,993 mm wide and 1,648 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,899 mm, making it 89 mm longer and 100 mm wider, and a 67 mm longer wheelbase compared to the Q5 Traditional. It also stands out with Audi's latest design language, which includes wide front air intakes, prominent side lines above the wheel arches and a blocked grille.

Dubbed “the world's first digital active lighting system,” the split-LED headlights of the Audi Q6 E-Tron consist of several rows of light modules that can be adjusted to display eight different light patterns.

The rear lights are based on OLED technology and contain 360 lighting units that can be adjusted at a speed of up to every 10 milliseconds. They are compatible with Car-to-X technology, which allows communication with road infrastructure and traffic control centers to warn drivers of potential hazards or obstacles detected by the model ahead.

Internally, the Q6 E-Tron stands out for its innovative interior design called 'Digital Theater', a design that Audi has never presented before. It features an 11.9-inch instrument screen and a 14.5-inch touchscreen integrated into a uniform curved panel. Surrounded by mood lighting that creates an atmosphere that seems as if the screens are floating in the air at night.

The Audi Q6 E-Tron enhances the tech experience with a 10.9-inch passenger touchscreen, with a privacy feature that blocks driver content while driving, in addition to the improved head-up display, which displays information as if it were appearing 200 meters away.

The central screen offers an innovative infotainment system based on Android Automotive – different from Android Auto – which allows online software updates and includes built-in apps such as YouTube, along with the App Store and a new AI-based smart voice assistant, and also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

As an additional option, users can opt for a premium audio system from Bang & Olufsen, which includes twenty speakers with a total power of 830 watts, including speakers integrated into the front seat headrests to ensure an exceptional listening experience.
