Volkswagen has unveiled the ID.3 GTX, the company's first high-performance electric hatchback, which sits at the top of the ID.3 range. The ID.3 GTX comes in two versions: basic and performance, with the latter offering extra power.
Interior design:
Inside the car, the interior stands out with its luxurious sports seats, decorated with red threads and GTX-specific details via digital displays. The GTX also features a large 12.9-inch touchscreen equipped with ID.3 series ChatGPT technology. Volkswagen also promises to supply this screen for standard versions of the electric hatchback. Another interior update includes a new driving mode switch, now moved to the steering column.
Exterior design:
The ID.3 GTX stands out with a unique front bumper designed specifically for the GTX, with a prominent air intake flanked by a new set of boomerang-shaped LED headlights. On the sides of the car, the GTX rides on 20-inch Skagen alloy wheels, adding a more powerful character. The rear bumper features a clear diffuser design that complements the overall performance character of the car.
Specifications and performance:
Although the ID.3 GTX remains rear-wheel drive, it offers significantly more power than the standard version. In the regular GTX version, the electric motor on the rear axle generates 282 hp and 545 Nm of torque, while the GTX Performance version increases the power to 322 hp, without any change in torque.
Volkswagen announced that the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6 seconds for the GTX version and in 5.6 seconds for the GTX Performance version, with a top speed of 180 km/h and 200 km/h respectively .
The car uses a new battery pack with a capacity of 79 kWh, which, according to Volkswagen, allows the most powerful version to travel up to 600 kilometers on a single charge. The battery supports DC fast charging up to 175 kW, allowing it to be charged from 10% to 80% in approximately 26 minutes.
