Andrea Cambiasso revealed that he had conversations with Manchester City during a possible movement in January, but insisted that he is “really happy” to play for Juventus.
Cambiaso, who joined Juventus near Genoa in 2022, enjoyed a breakthrough year last season, scored twice and assisted four times in 33 Serie A performances.
Indeed, only Manuel Locatelli (49) won more tackles for Juventus in the top flight than Cambiaso (30), where the Italian also created 34 opportunities, the third highest total in the team.
His fine versions attracted interest from the Pep Guardiola team, who spent a lot of money in the January transfer star after their struggles in the Premier League.
The citizens welcomed Omar Marmoush, Nico Gonzalez, Abdukodir Khusanov and Vorror Reis, with those signing sessions that helped them end at the Champions League places.
City also signed Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki and Marcus Bettinelli prior to their club World Cup campaign.
Cambiaso has left in his current deal for another four years after he had placed a contract with Juventus with Juventus in May last year in May last year.
After publishing the 2022-23 campaign on loan with fellow Serie A Side Bologna, he has missed only nine Series A-Games in the past two seasons.
But the 25-year-old continues to work for the Igor Tudor team, but said he was flattered to be linked to a club as big as a city so early in his career.
“Let's say they have almost unlimited financial resources – their property is incredibly rich – so I am not surprised that they have spent so much on the transfer market,” he said.
“In January it was nice to just talk, but I am happy to be here and wear this shirt. I was never really close.
“It was fun and flattering to be linked to such clubs, but I will say it again. I am really happy that I play here.”
