Paulo Fonseca believes referee Federico La Penna showed AC Milan “a lack of respect” during the 2-1 defeat to Atalanta.
Ademola Lookman's late goal decided the match at the Gewiss Stadium, where Alvaro Morata canceled out Charles De Ketelaere's earlier attempt.
While Atalanta climbed to the top of Serie A after a ninth straight win, Milan saw their seven-match unbeaten run in all competitions come to an end.
However, Fonseca suggested his side were on the wrong end of questionable performances, including on the home side's first goal, where he felt De Ketelaere pushed Theo Hernandez as he climbed home.
“I'm not afraid to tell the truth,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “I have always respected the work of the referees. I realize they have a difficult job, but every week it is always the same.
“The way the referee acted this evening was a lack of respect for Milan.
“The first goal, [there] it was a clear violation, there is no doubt about that. The way the referee acted all the time was against Milan, there's no doubt about that.”

Although Fonseca acknowledged that poor defense against set pieces cost him dearly.
“At the end of the day we lost the match after two set plays,” he added. “The first half was very good, but in the second we didn't have that link with the attackers.
“I think we deserved more tonight. It was difficult to accept that we conceded two goals from dead ball situations.”
Meanwhile, Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini relished his side's victory, which took them to the top of the table and already had their supporters singing songs about winning the Scudetto.
“Of course this is a great win against a team with undoubtedly very talented players who are among the best in the competition, and we absolutely deserved the win,” he said.
“The people of Bergamo have both feet on the ground, so don't take anything for granted. If we were still there after another 20 games, things would be different, but as things stand now, It is an expression of joy.” and a deserved one too.”
