Arne Slot's likely transfer activities This summer reflects the movements he made in Feyenoord after his first season, while he chose to sell several starters
Arne Slot's ruthlessness in the summer transfer window with Liverpool should not be a surprise, especially for Manchester United and Leeds United. The Dutchman has shot the gate when it comes to signing sessions after he has led the club to the Premier League title in his first season that is in charge.
The Reds have already taken over Armin Pecsi from Puskas Akademia and Bayer Leverkusen duo Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz, where the latter is signed for £ 100 million plus add-ons of £ 16 million. With Bournemouth left back Milos Kerkez who is also approaching an move to Anfield, it has so far been a busy window in Liverpool for arrivals, because Slot appears to match that company with regard to departure.
While Jarell Quansah is approaching a £ 35 million for Leverkusen, the Reds can say goodbye to people like Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Harvey Elliott and Andy Robertson while Slot continues to build the team to his image.
A revision of so many starters from the first team can be classified as overwhelming for a head coach, but Slot certainly has experience in the area after he has performed a similar strategy after his first season at Feyenoord.
After he became third in his debut campaign with the Giants Eredivisie, Slot sold several of his starters, including Tyrell Malacia to Man United and Luis Sinisterra to Leeds. He also sold defender Marco Senesi to Bournemouth, while the top scorer of the Guus competition ended until his loan period before signing for Rivals PSV.
Despite the departure of several of his great batters, Slot's Recruitment and Coaching Feyenoord saw continuing to win their first league title in five years. The 46-year-old has made no effort to only require the best possible players to play for Liverpool thanks to the standard set by Mohamed Salah.
Speaking earlier this year, he said: “If you want to play for Liverpool, you have to be at Mo Salah level. If you are not at his level, you are almost useless to play at this club, we only need players at the top of their game. Why because this is one of, if not the best club in the world to play for!”
Despite the important company that has already been completed by Liverpool, the club continues their search to further strengthen Crystal Palace Captain Marc Guehi and Eintracht Frankfurt -star Hugo Ekitike was reportedly held by Anfield Chiefs.
The deal of the Reds for Wirtz has the potential to be the largest that the Premier League has ever seen with the reimbursement and add-ons that come to £ 1 million more than the £ 115 million Chelsea paid for Moises Caicedo.
Speaking after the move was completed, the German superstar told the club's official website: “I feel very happy and very proud. Finally it is ready and I was waiting for a long time – finally it is ready and I am really happy.
“I am really excited to have a new adventure in front of me. This was also a big point of my thoughts: that I want something completely new to go out of the Bundesliga and to become a member of the Premier League.
“Last season they won the Premier League, so my goal can certainly be won again and also to continue in the Champions League. I am really ambitious. I am not coming [to] Have fun here, I also want to achieve something and give the fans what they deserve. “
