Speaking with Corriere della Sera, former Olympique de Marseille wing player Luis Henrique (23) praised the role of Roberto de Zerbi in his progression, after a transfer of € 25 million to Inter Milan this summer.
The 23-year-old Brazilian, who initially died in September 2020, described his arrival in France as a vertebral moment. “Everything happened very quickly. The football, the language – everything was new to me,” he said. “I went to Brazil a year ago [on loan to Botafogo]But when I came back, I found my place. Overcoming those difficulties was a life lesson. “
Henrique returned to Marseille in January 2024 with more experience and trust, which he credits as crucial for his breakthrough 2024/25 season under the Zerbi. The winger scored nine goals and registered two assists in 35 performances in all competitions last season.
“The Zerbi gave me total support, and that helped me to make a lot of progress. He said that I had to keep applying everything and especially to enjoy playing football,” henrique added.
The attacker is now part of the team of Inter Milan participating in the FIFA Club World Cup. He played a 1-1 draw with Monterrey and a victory over Urawa Red Diamonds in both group games. Inter Face River Plate in the early hours of Thursday (3 hours CET), with a place in the last 16 on the line.gffn | George Boxall
