Atletico Madrid concludes after the third signing of the summer, after reaching an agreement to sign midfielder Johnny Cardoso. The USMNT star has concluded an agreement for several weeks on personal conditions, but after a few weeks of conversations, Los Colchoneros has found a deal with Betis.
Cardoso, 23, arrived in Betis only 18 months ago, but made an immediate impact in La Liga and soon became a starter under Manuel Pellegrini. Last summer Betis agreed to insert a € 25 million purchase clause in his deal with Tottenham Hotspur in exchange for a discount on Giovani Lo Celso, but Cardosos wish to move to Atletico stopped all intentions to make a movement.
Atletico had offered € 25 million plus variables for Cardoso, but Marca reports that a deal has finally been reached for € 30 million plus variables based on short -term objectives. It is not yet clear how much that will be.
