Manchester United is desperately looking for a buyer for Jadon Sancho after Chelsea had pulled himself out of a deal to permanently sign the 25-year-old winger after a loan spell
Manchester United has made progress in their attempts to discharge Jadon Sancho after Fenerbahce reportedly agreed with the wing player. Sancho is on the transfer list at United after Chelsea has rejected the chance to permanently sign it after a seasonal loan.
Chelsea decided that they would rather pay a fee of £ 5 million than to continue signing Sancho for £ 25 million in what was a big blow to Ruben Amorim's side. Sancho has no future in Amorim's team and its £ 300,000 a week-wages are an important drain about the club's finances.
United is desperate to sell their unwanted players in the summer transfer window, to finance a rebuilding, but the rejection of Chelsea sent them back to the drawing table. Fortunately it seems like they have found a willing buyer.
Fenerbahce is on the market for a left wing player after the loan saying of Allan Saint-Maximin ended. Jose Mourinho has enlightened a movement for Sancho and the Turkish outlet Sabah says that there has been a big breakthrough in the negotiations.
The report states that the 25-year-old has agreed to a deal worth € 10 million (£ 8.5 million) per year in an attempt to convince him to venture out of Europe outside the top competitions. Now, after finding an agreement with Sancho, Fenerbahce is now preparing their offer for United.
Fanatik says that United is willing to sell Sancho for just € 20 million (£ 17 million) because he has only been on his contract for a year. Napoli was also interested in signing Sancho, but only if he reduces his salary requirements.
It therefore seems that Fenerbahce is now in the handlebars to sign the wing player, who received five goals and 10 assists in 42 performances in all matches for Chelsea last season.
However, there is another option with Galeno mentioned in the report. The 27-year-old Brazilian joined Al-Ahli from Porto in January for € 50 million, but did not succeed in settling in Saudi Arabia and wants to leave this summer. He has seven goals and five assists in 18 games for Al-Ahli and would be available on loan.
Sancho is at the top of the list of players who wants to load United this summer, in addition to Marcus Rashford, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho. The reason is clear, with Sancho a flop of considerable proportions since the signing of Borussia Dortmund in 2021 for £ 73 million.
He only has 12 goals and six assists in 83 games for United for four years and did not come close to matching the potential shown in Dortmund, where he led an impressive 40 goals and 47 assists in 118 performances.
