Adam Lallana announces retirement, Formerly played for Liverpool and Southampton

On June 25, the 37-year-old English midfielder Adam Lallana announced his retirement of professional football. In the course of his career, he played for clubs such as Liverpool, Southampton and Brighton.

Adam Lallana's pension statement:

While I mention time on my gaming career, I do that with an overwhelming feeling of gratitude and pride.

I could no longer appreciate for the opportunities I received and the support I received on the road.

You owe as much on a trip as this – it is impossible to name everyone, but please know how grateful I am. I couldn't have done it without you.

It is strange to think that this all started in the last millennium, when I signed for the academy in 1999.

Since making my professional debut in 2006, | Realize that I am blessed to live the dream that millions of people share.

Southampton … the place where it all started, and fitting where it ends. It is the club to which I ultimately owe everything.

Liverpool … the chance to represent one of the largest clubs in the world and win some of the biggest prizes in the game.

Brighton … the home of some of the happiest years of my life, in a club that is deeply connected to the community and is run in such a smart, modern way.

And England … every cap meant the world to me. Representing my country was the greatest honor.

I am proud of the gaming career I have had and I don't regret it. I embrace all the highlights and all lows while they have formed me to who I am.

Thanks for everyone who made the trip so special, the staff of every club and organization, the managers and coaches, my teammates and of course the supporters – thanks.

But above all, for my own team … my family. My wife Emily, our great sons, my mother, dad and sister, thank you for tolerating me and sitting in my corner.

I am enthusiastic about what the future entails.

Adam
