According to the latest report from Record, Atlético Madrid has joined the race to sign Viktor Gyökeres and the competition can be confronted from Manchester United, Arsenal and Juventus.
The report states that sporting CP has no good relationship with the agent of Gyökkeres, Hasan Çetinkaya. New clubs have now come into the picture, partly because of the strong tires of Jorge Mendes with several teams – including Juventus and Atlético Madrid.
Mendes is currently enjoying a very close relationship with Atlético Madrid, which has been the case for quite some time. In fact, Atlético's current sports director Carlos Bucero worked closely with Mendes before he came to the club.
In the meantime, clubs such as Arsenal and Manchester United also remain enthusiastic about Gyökeres, who seems to be one of the striking names of this summer's transfer market.
