Cheyanna Vlismas announces her retirement after he has been tipped for 'Big Things' by Dana White

Cheyanne Vlismas, formerly Cheyanne Buys, arrived in 2020 in the Contender Series of Dana White with a professional record of 4-1, after making her pro-debut only two years earlier.

The strict weight competition earned a contract on week 3 of season 4 before fought 4 times in the Octagon, with 2-2.

Her last UFC fight came in December 2022, where she lost a unanimous decision to Cory McKenna on the UFC Apex.

After he had admitted in an interview with MMA that after her appearance of the Competer Series she had fought that she had spent years with reports from Dana White on social media and told him that she would be a star for the UFC, this was what the boss had to say about her when signing Vlismas on the UFC.

“I mean, what do I say about Cheyanne. What am I not saying about Cheyanne. Striking her is incredible, her ground is great, she is mean and nasty. She is stubborn, she is 5-1, she is young. She is not even in her prime yet, she is still a baby.

“I really like her, very much and I think, when she comes here again, another person we get in the PI. She starts training, we get her fighting. I expect great things for Cheyanne in the future.”

Vlismas announced her retirement on Instagram and stated that the birth of her second child led to this decision.

The 30-year-old stated that although she still loves fighting, her children are her priority and she does not believe she could leave them to devote herself to a training camp.

Dana White previously concluded the comments of Cheyanne Vlismas about hunter's wage

After her first victory in the Octagon at UFC Vegas 33, an emotional Cheyanne Vlismas responded to receiving a performance of the night bonus for her TKO finish above Gloria de Paula.

She spoke about a difficult financial place after a loss on her UFC debut, but when Dana White was asked to respond to these comments, the UFC -CEO said that this is just part of the sport.

“There are many people on their way up, struggling, trying to save it. The downside of that is that she is 1-1 in the UFC and has made 80 Grand in the last six months. This is one of those sports that you have to win. If you win, everything is good. If you lose, everything is bad. That's bad.”

Vlismas ends its professional career with a general record of 7-3, after she earned two post-fight bonuses during her short stint in the UFC.
