Barcelona was quick to pay the release clause of Joan Garcia from Espanyol, and should be believed as reports, Nico Williams convinced to add to the club this summer. What is not yet clear are the consequences of paying those two release claims, which a total of € 73 million between them.
Despite the protests of President Joan Laporta, La Liga opposite Javier Tebas has assured that Barcelona to register Williams should sell players. The general feeling is that the sale is needed for this, and drifting about director of Football Deco is a potential big money sales for players they would rather keep.
One of the often mentioned names is Ronald Araujo. The Uruguayan was not satisfied with his contract situation and Juventus tried to take advantage of a low-ball offer in the January transfer window. According to the sport, the Bianconeri remain interested in Araujo and are willing to offer € 25-30 million for the 26-year-old defender.
It seems unlikely that Barcelona would be willing to accept that even if the offer arrived, and they were desperate to register Williams. Director of Football Deco has declared Arajo one of the best defenders in the world on his day, and he also assured that he will stay in the club.
One of the uncertainties about Araujo was how he would respond to the slipping of Hansi Flick's starting XI. However, he seems to have assimilated that fact and appears for the challenge to try to win back his place.
