Match report
The Brazilian side needed a point to book their place in the last 16 and they successfully excluded Sundowns, who needed the victory to extend their stay in the US. Fluminense is advanced as a runner-up of Group F, where Borussia Dortmund defeated Ulsan HD on Wednesday in the other fixture of the section to secure the top position.
Sundowns created the best chance of the early stages at Hard Rock Stadium, with Tashreq Matthews racing on goal and forcing an excellent Save with one hand from Fabio.
However, clear opportunities were little between the first half, however, with Jhon Arias closest to Fluminense when his ride flashed just wide.
