The Reds have already spent great work this summer, but they have much more work to do before their Premier League title defense starts
For a club that likes to go the strange year without signing, Liverpool will be sure that a large company will be done early this summer. They have protected long-term successors for full-backs Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson in Jeremie Frimpong and Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez of Bayer Leverkusen, while there was also the small issue to sign the British transfer record for signing Florian Wirtz for £ 116 million.
There were many jokes about the appointment of Richard Hughes as a sports director when everything he did in his first window made a low risk of Federico Chiesa for a Cut-Price deal from Juventus. They all laughed at him and you have to say, they don't laugh now. The Reds mean things and are clearly not satisfied with just winning the Premier League. Their chance is open and they do everything they can do this summer to ensure that they benefit.
Three selection frame offer, there is still work for Liverpool to be done before the window closes, be so internal or external. Here are the seven priorities that are left to sort for the deadline:
Continue from Nunez
Jurgen Klopp taught during his last season in Liverpool that you simply cannot bring Darwin Nunez's knife to a Premier League title race weapon fight. During his first season in Liverpool, Arne Slot learned that the Uruguayan can be used as a backup, but little more.
The cult of Nunez, with its intriguing manic ability to create opportunities as easy as he misses, is not as pleasant as the pressure is actually. If the Reds were threatened for the top position in 2024-25, his waste may have returned to chase them.
With a series of clubs, including the Italian champions Napoli and those in the Saudi -Pro League, actively interested in taking nunez from their hands, Liverpool should certainly be looking for the division of division this summer. In all honesty it sounds like they indeed want to move him.
Find a good deal for Elliott
Harvey Elliott has been tipped for two or three years to come forward as the next big thing from Liverpool. He is still only 22, but that explosion of Squad Player to indisputable regular regular has not yet happened.
The Reds have ambitions to win all the next season, but where exactly Elliott fits in the fold, it remains for debate. Mohamed Salah does not show any signs of delay on his favorite right wing and has signed a contract extension. In midfield he didn't get much of a look, even before Wirtz came through the Anfield doors.
Elliott did not make Premier League-Start last season to the 3-1 defeat against Chelsea who had completed the Premier League title a week after Liverpool had clocked in all competitions for only 822 minutes. It would never be easy for him to build Momentum after the first year of locked with a broken base, but he didn't do much to wave the Dutchman, even after his return to fitness.
A summer output is perhaps the best for all parties, and Elliott itself has opened the door for that possibility: “I have to think. I have to see if I am satisfied with doing what I do and how can I improve as a player, because that is the most important thing. I just want to be the best possible version of myself. If that is to go somewhere else, then it is a decision that I have to make.”
Brighton is one of the teams that are said to be interested in Elliott, and Liverpool should try to get both the most value from each permanent sale, as well as a fineback clause or equivalent in such a deal.
Stand firmly on Diaz & Gakpo
Liverpool succeeds in retaining a lid for crazy transfer speculation with regard to income, but they cannot always help when another club falls in love in their books. It just happens that Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo are the target of two of the most publicly focused teams in European football in Barcelona and Bayern Munich respectively.
Barca's interest in Diaz dates from last summer, when they tried and failed to bring the Colombian from Merseyside to Catalunya. It didn't feel like it was ever plausible because of their financial problems a year ago, and they have still not been released to this day. Nico Williams and Marcus Rashford from Athletic Club by Nico Williams and Manchester United also seem to be higher on their shortlist.
Bayern's half-hearted relationship from Gakpo is interesting because Liverpool has not necessarily issued a hands-off warning, with a modest £ 42 million (€ 50 million) price stated in the German media. Nevertheless, the Reds should not be a bid for one of the two wings, given their useful versatility about the front line and fame with Slot Al.
Avoid another situation from Alexander-Arnold
The sounds that come from Anfield with regard to the contracting situation of Ibrahima Konate are not reassuring. The Guardian was reported earlier this week that he was 'disappointed' with the last range of Liverpool of a new deal, in the conviction that he should receive a higher basic wage given his contributions to the club in four years of service.
With 12 months left to run on current conditions, the Reds are re -confronted with the prospect of losing an important player against their will. Ironically, Real Madrid is again the interested party that Alexander-Arnold has already taken over. Liverpool cannot afford to make that happen again or to allow this to become a recurring theme in their company – there is already a decent chance that Salah and Virgil van Dijk can walk in the sunset for free when their new deals end in 2027.
As Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain or another team that looks at him, the Reds open their doors for things this summer or return to the negotiating table with the 26-year-old as quickly as possible. There must be a resolution before the transfer period.
Sign a center – back – but not guehi
Regardless of the future of Konate and the rather generous sale of Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen, Liverpool went into the summer hoping to sign a new center-back for the short and long term. It is remarkable that the towering Frenchman was actually their last addition to that area at all in 2021, with a deal concluded with RB Leipzig during the last coronavirus Lockdown.
Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace seems to be their top objective in the central defense, and there are your good reasons why the club came to that conclusion. He is a complete English international who played a leading role in a big tournament, while he just led the Eagles for their very first trophy and will not sign a new contract with another year about his deal.
That said, Guehi is not the defender of Van Dijk-Level ready to make another leap in a top club. Newcastle and Tottenham are also admirers of the 24-year-old, although they are only contenders to qualify for the Champions League. If Liverpool won the European cup again, they must focus higher.
Alexis Mac Allister has spoken about his desire to be accompanied at club level by international teammate Cristian Romero, but it would be difficult to pry him from Spurs. Ajax Starlet Jorrel Hato visited Anfield last season, although at the age of 19 and mainly played as left back in 2024-25, he would probably not have an immediate impact. That does not mean that there are no other options if Liverpool does not try to play. Would Barcelona entertain offers for the flexible Jules Kounde? Can Inter be tempted in a sale of Alessandro Bastoni? Are Nottingham Forest safe enough of PSR sanctions to ignore calls for Murillo?
Choose a keeping plan
Liverpool is so blessed in the goalkeeper department that they were able to sell their third choice on their way to 2025-26, Caoimhin Kelleher, to Brentford for compensation that could rise to £ 18 million. As it looks now, £ 25 million men will serve Giorgi Mamardashvili as a backup for Alisson.
Maybe that is a plan that will serve them well. If the reliable Brazilian wants to continue his stay in Anfield, he has earned it well, even with lucrative offers that arise elsewhere. How long his Georgian counterpart will accept that this is a different question, even though he claims that he likes to start as a substitute.
It could be a case to start Alisson in the Premier League and Mamardashvili in the cups and Europe, which would be a fairly reassuring luxury for Slot. Factor in that Alisson tends to pick up a semi-length injury at least once a season has only played all 38 games in a competition season and did not succeed in reaching the 30-match Mark three times and there is an even clearer path for the ex-Valagia man to get useful minutes.
Making a decision about Isak
There is no smoke without fire in the transfer world when it comes to Liverpool. If they didn't think about Alexander Isak, this would have been reported by the Beatjournalists of the club long ago. That has still not happened, because according to all the bills there is a real interest rate from Anfield.
The problem is that Newcastle is not under pressure to sell. All persistent PSR -those who seem to have faded, and even if they insist, the club would certainly look at all other solutions before they decided to give up their best player. Isak has left for three years on his contract and the magpies are ready to make him the highest earner in their history to let him pen new conditions.
Signing Wirtz for a sum of nine digits did not even broken the bank for Liverpool. There seems to be more than enough money left in the Kitty for income, especially if they can get considerable costs for people like Nunez and Elliott. It is not going beyond the rich the possibility that they can later set this window a similar offer for a striker.
However, they are not only in the willing of a new NR .9 this summer, and the top layer of goals can move quickly. Arsenal has been working for weeks on deals for Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokees, while Manchester United is also looking for a competter of similar quality. Hugo Ekitike van Eintracht Frankfurt is also high on the list of the Reds options, although there is no guarantee that he will still be available if they wait all windows to make a decision.
The Liverpool striker really depends on how much they really want. If they believe it is a necessity, they will probably not get Isak and they must continue from him. If it is a bonus, they can afford to hang around and later cover their bets along the line.
