Bayer 04 Leverkusen has signed the Senegalese central defender Abdoulaye Faye. The 20-year-old joins the Bundesliga side of the Swedish Top-Flight Club BK Häcken. Faye has written a contract with Leverkusen until 30 June 2030.
“In Abdoulaye Faye we have signed an extremely talented defender. His signing is a transfer with a long perspective, Faye is a promise for the future of Bayer 04 Leverkusen,” said Managing Director Sport Simon Rolfes. According to the director of Football Kim Falkenberg: “Abdoulaye Faye has everything that is needed to become an impressive player in our worked team. He is a very good football player, has excellent skills in creating movements and produces quality passes,” Falkenberg said.
The 1.91 meter long defender is happy with his switch to work: “Leverkusen offers me a great opportunity that I certainly want to take. I will do everything to place myself in the long term in the frame on Bayer 04,” Faye said. “It is a top European club – wearing the Leverkusen – sweater will inspire me every day.”
