Liverpool ‘playing waiting game for Isak transfer & could return after deadline’

Liverpool is willing to play a waiting game to land dream striker Alexander Isak after an important deadline for the season.

Top Target Isak, 25, appears to be difficult to lure from Newcastle, with the Toon Army prepared to make him the best-paid player in the 132-year history of the club.

After securing Champions League football next season, Eddie Howe Isak sees as a crucial part of his project while making Newcastle a dominant power in English football.

Howe has openly talked about Newcastle that ties Isak to a new mega contract, with its current deal worth £ 120,000 a week to June 2028.

But new conversations still have to be delivered and this has given rival clubs, including Arsenal, hope that they can get a remarkable shock.

Liverpool Echo correspondent Paul Gorst has reported that the Premier League champions will monitor the situation in the summer and wait until after profit and sustainability regulations reset on 30 June.

This is because the end of June marks the end of the financial year for most clubs and meets PSR requirements (in particular not exceeding a loss of £ 105 million for a period of three years) is crucial to prevent potential points deduction

Isak was deadly again last season and yielded 27 goals in 42 games in all competitions, including 23 in the Premier League.

He played a key role and scored a goal in the final victory of the Carabao Cup on Liverpool when Newcastle ended their 70-year-old trophy-dried, while he also qualified for the Champions League via a fifth installed prem finish.

Newcastle broke their transfer record by spending £ 63 million on Isak in August 2022 and they are not going to lose him quickly.

But Liverpool seems willing to break a British transfer record to praise the Sweden International from St James' Park, where Newcastle hits a price tag of £ 150 million on the 25-year-old.

Manager Arne Slot is looking for a new No. 9, because Darwin Nunez is approaching an output of Serie A champions Napoli after he has not impressed.

If Liverpool is missing Isak, they could instead Hugo Ekitike or Joao Pedro, where the club also focuses on Arsenal and Manchester United, who focuses on Viktor Gyokeres.

Anfield Chiefs have been splashing more than £ 200 million since the end of the season, with Bournemouth Full-back Milos Kerkez their latest signing.

Kerkez joins Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong as the next big arrival at Merseyside this summer.

Together with goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, whose transfer is said to have been included in this summer's accounts, despite the fact that it was sealed last year, Liverpool's summer expenses have already reached no less than £ 216 million.

After doing most of their transfer work more than fourteen days before the players return for the season, sports director Richard Hughes and Slot relax about the situation around Isak.
