Polarizing boxer Jake Paul did not miss the weight in his controversial career, but he came quite close to the dangerous waters before his upcoming return.
Paul and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., the son of the great boxer of all time, will collide this Saturday in Anaheim to mark Paul's return to the ring after beating Mike Tyson in November. Paul wants to expand his current profit streak after his first professional loss against Tommy Fury in 2023.
While Paul was usually Brahs and self-assured himself for the Chavez fight, he was confronted with a unique obstacle in the weeks prior to Saturday's event.

In the last phases of his training camp, Paul weighed around 226 pounds, well above the limit of cruiser weight. Less than two weeks ago, Paul still had to cut about 15 pounds, because he showed an unusually small breakfast in a post on social media.
Although Paul's boxing career has attracted a considerable part of criticism and hatred, his professionalism to make weight cannot be denied. At the official weightings of Friday in Anaheim, Paul was successful, although it looked considerable on the scale.

Just a few months ago before his collision with Tyson, Paul weighed at 227.2 pounds, an amazing change for the Chavez competition. Chavez also successfully made weight at the official weighting, with a weight of 198.4 pounds.
Chavez returns to the ring after beating the former UFC star Uriah Hall last July. He underwent a short period in a rehabilitation facility due to problems with alcohol and drugs earlier this year, but recently admitted that he is continuously sober in his boxing career for the first time.
The former world champion Chavez perhaps presents the most difficult test of Paul's young career. But Chavez will enter the boxing ring with much to prove, because the 39-year-old is demonstrably past his physical prime.

Prior to his confrontation with Chavez, one of Paul's former rivals fights for his life in a hospital in Wisconsin. Ben Askren, a former UFC star and Bellator title holder, needs a lung transplant after a serious attack of pneumonia has brought him into a medically induced coma.
While Paul and Askren had their part of the beef before their battle in 2021, cooler heads have prevailed in recent years. In a recent interview with Bloody Elbow and other media members, Paul Askren wanted the best 'and offered to help if he and his wife needed support.
