In the Co-Headliner, Alexander Pantoja defends his flying weight championship against Kai Kara-France.

The recommended Prelim of UFC 317 took place in the middleweight division when Gregory Rodrigues hit a wild knockout of Jack Hermansson who left the former top candidate unconscious for a few minutes.

Rodrigues received some anti -aircraft weather for the knockout. Rodrigues landed an extra hammer fist on an unconscious Hermansson two seconds after he eliminated him with a left corner.

UFC commentator Joe Rogan said that the last blow of Rodrigues was 'unnecessary' and Daniel Cormier complained that referee Herb Dean Hermansson should have saved from the blow.

Gregory Rodrigues responds to criticism before the last blow to UFC 317

Rodrigues after the fight was criticized online because he showed no restraint against Hermansson.

“First of all, I don't care what people think,” said Rodrigues about the controversy at the UFC 317 Post-Fight Press Conference.

“If you enter the cage, we sign the contract, we can do everything.

“Because if he was on the other side and he did the same, why do you get angry with him or something? He did his job.

“But I hope it's good. He is a warrior like me,” said Rodrigues about Hermansson.

'I'm not going to stop until the referee [says] Stop. I just did my job, and I will continue to do that. That's what I do. That is what he does, and it is what it is. That was my night. “
