Chelsea has concluded a deal with Borussia Dortmund to sign Jamie Gittens for a fee worth £ 55.5 million (€ 65 million).
The conversations are progressing in the US, where both teams participate in the World Cup club and, despite the fact that Bayern Munich is also interested, a deal has now been agreed for the 20-year-old to move to Stamford Bridge with a seven-year-old deal.
Earlier this month, Dortmund rejected an offer with a value of £ 42 million, and the two clubs could not agree a deal before the first window was closed on 10 June.
A final agreement between the two parties comes in the midst of the search of the West London Club to strengthen broad areas after the decision not to take the option to permanently sign Jadon Sancho.
The winger is set to a medical with the blues, but if the move is completed before the end of the World Cup club, he may not appear in front of Enzo Maresca.
The FIFA rules state that a player cannot play for two teams during the tournament, where Gittens appears in Dortmund's first group match against Fluminense.
The England U21 International contributed 12 goals and five assists in 48 games in all competitions for Dortmund last season.
Gittens is previously affiliated with the Stamford Bridge -Outfit, who had been as a youth player in the books of Chelsea before switching to Manchester City.
He moved to Germany in 2020, in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho, and broke into the Dortmund team in 2022.
Gittens also made 11 performances for England under the age of 21, but was not included in the Lee Carsley team for the European Championships.
The return from Gittens to English football will compete for a place in the side of Enzo Maresca with people like Pedro Neto and Noni Madueke, who are currently taking the broad positions.
