Jake Paul teases ‘very likely’ timeframe for ‘insane fight’ with heavyweight superstar after Julio Cesar Chavez Jr win

Jake Paul may have a number of big names on his hit list, but he claims that one of the top stars of the sport is interested in making it happen.

On 28 June the controversial star returned to the ring, where Paul Julio Cesar Chavez Jr defeated after overcoming a late fear.

The 28-year-old immediately focused on a potential world title fight, where Paul met with Zurdo Ramirez after both men won victories in Anaheim, California.

'The Problem Child' has never had a problem calling some of the biggest names in boxing, which came close to a huge fight with Canelo Alvarez earlier this year.

One of the superstars he has focused in the past led Paul to criticize his former opponent, but it now seems that his earlier callout may not have gone unnoticed.

Jake Paul claims that after speaking with Anthony Joshua, the fight it looks 'very likely' before 2026

In his press conference after the fight, Jake Paul was interviewed about his earlier statements about a possible relocation to heavyweight in the future.

He has previously shown interest in a potential fight with Anthony Joshua, one of the biggest names in boxing as a former two -time united world champion heavyweight.

Paul said that although he acknowledges that heavyweight would be a big question, that the kind of challenges he is looking for are.

“I am absolutely not a heavyweight, but I am still going to take on the challenge. You look at Deontay Wilder, he hit these guys with a weight of 215 pounds, he is 6'6 or something like that, but everything is possible. I love the challenge. That is the criticism, people will say:” Fight someone in their Prime who is a beast. ” I think people just really want to see me losing. That is really what the message behind it is. ”

Paul started talking specifically about a potential fight with Joshua and labeled it as an “insane fight”.

'AJ' may come from a knockout loss for Daniel Dubois, but before that he was able to seriously rebuild his stock by winning four fights in a row by knockout to bounce back from his successive defeats to Oleksandr Usyk.

Paul said he had spoken with Joshua, that went as far as a phone call between them, believes that the fight could “very likely” take place in 2026 with both parties interested.

“Anthony Joshua is an insane fight, but I want that challenge. We got back and forth. He wants to let it happen. He called me and it looks very likely for next year.”

Jake Paul says that a fight with Canelo Alvarez is not off the table

In February a fight between Jake Paul and Canelo Alvarez would be announced until Turki entered Alalshikh and signed the Mexican star for a deal with four fights.

Instead of Paul in Boxing on 3 May, Alvarez William Scull in Riyadh defeated before he focused his attention on the huge fight with Terence Crawford.

During the press conference, Paul was asked if he sees a fight between him and Alvarez will ever return for him.

“No, he's not out of sight. I think once I get the belts, I want to fight for the Cruiserweight Championship and add that belt to my resume. I think he would be a four or five weight champion. I think that would be what he is interested, and that is the plan.”
