The former title of Islam Makhachev was won in a devastating way at UFC 317.
A new lightweight champion was crowned when Ilia Topuria eliminated Charles Oliveira in the first round to stay unbeaten.
While Topuria shared a face-off with Paddy Pimblett in the Octagon to set up a huge first title defense, there is another matchup that the fans want to see the new champion.
With both men who recently go on divisions, Topuria does not believe that he is confronted with Makhachev now that the Russian has gone to Welterweight.
Makhachev and his team currently have their eyes focused on the 170 pound title, in which his coach recently explains that Topuria is not the most difficult test for him.

Javier Mendez reveals why he believes that Jack della Maddalena is a more difficult puzzle for Islam Makhachev than Ilia Topuria
In a recent interview with Submission Radio, Javier Mendez gave his reaction to Ilia Topuria's spectacular victory over Charles Oliveira on UFC 317.
Before the empty lightweight title fight was announced, many fans hope to see the Topuria challenge Islam Makhachev in front of the belt before the Russian left his title to go up.
With the new champion who proves itself on light with a new ruthless knockout, a fight with Makhachev could now be even bigger than before.
Mendez, however, believes that Topuria is not the most difficult puzzle to solve for his hunter while he prepares to compete for the first time in good weight.
The move from Makhachev was set up after Jack della Maddalena Belal Muhammad defeated UFC 315 to win the 170-pound title, so that the Aussie was set up to welcome the pound-for-pound number one in his first defending defense.
Mendez stated that the more well -completed striking approach and the size of 'JDM' gives them more problems than a fight with Topuria, which, according to the much -praised coach, has the best hands in the sport.
“Maddalena is the more difficult because of number one, the size. Number two, he is good everywhere. If it was just boxing, then we don't have to worry so much because boxing Maddalena is not as good as that of Topuria, but in general, his knees, his general game is very good.”
Javier Mendez approves a potential iconic location good for Islam Makhachev vs Jack della Maddalena
There was something talking during the International Vechtweek with regard to where the Welterweight title fight of Islam Makhacheve could take place.
When you look at a fight of this size and the current schedule of the UFC, there is one location that feels particularly ideal to host the first title defense of Jack della Maddalena.
The Octagon will return to New York in November, as has been the case in recent years, and although Abu Dhabi could be other options, Javier Mendez is enthusiastic about the idea of seeing his hunter -headline Madison Square Garden for the first time.
“Dat zou fantastisch zijn als de UFC ons die gevecht in Madison Square Garden geeft, omdat de islam dat geweldig zou vinden. Niets beters om te doen dan om de titel te winnen in Madison Square Garden, de iconische Madison Square Garden. Dus voor hem is het een andere legacy -stat die hij graag zou gaan achterna het ene ding dat hij is na, hij heeft het tijd en tijd weergehouden, hij is na de legacy Fighting. “
