Ilia Topuria was already one of the biggest stars in the sport, but at UFC 317 its stock continued to rise.
Topuria and his team seemed to celebrate his victory before they even got into the Octagon.
The undefeated star was incredibly confident for his fight for the empty lightweight title where his performance justified his comments.
Topuria stopped Charles Oliveira in the first round before he went with Paddy Pimblett to set up a very lightweight title fight.
The display of the new champion received a lot of praise, where Joe Rogan went so far to say that he might have to break his one UFC rule to see him compete.

Joe Rogan admits that he might have to travel to Spain to view Ilia Topuria, especially when he fights against Islam Makhachev
Until now, Joe Rogan will be present in 2025 for five of the seven PPV events that the UFC has hosted.
The two he missed, UFC 315 and UFC 312, took place abroad with the old commentator who takes a step back from international maps some time ago.
Although this means that he has missed a number of huge events, including the victory of Ilia Topuria over Max Holloway on UFC 308, Rogan could reverse this rule for a specific occasion.

Recently there has been a lot of talk about Topuria who brings the Octagon to his home country Spain for the first time.
The new lightweight champion has previously stated that, although he would like to set up a UFC event in the huge house of Real Madrid, he does not like to fight in the early hours of the morning so that the card could take place on our time.
After the victory of Topuria, the UFC commentators spoke about the broadcast about what the next one is for Topuria, while Rogan spoke about how much he likes to see the new champion face Islam Makhachev.
He added that if the UFC is able to set up a home -return show for 'El Matador', he would consider making the journey.
“I may have to go to Spain. I might have to go to Spain … I always wanted to go to Spain. Let's go to Spain. I mean, Islam and him in Spain, come on. Come on.”

Journalist increases the current red flags with regard to Ilia Topuria that brings the UFC to Spain
In his press conference after the fight, Dana White said that although the promotion is still planning to go to Spain at a certain point in the future, it is “not even an option”.
His comments were supported by journalist Rodrigo del Campo Gonzalez, who wrote on X about the current issues regarding the hosting of an event in Santiago Bernabeu.
“At the time, Bernabeu can organize nothing but football, they have really bad permit problems with the city and the neighborhood. They partially renovated to do concerts, they were able to host, but paid more than 2.5 million euros in fines for noise violations.”
