Manchester United started the summer with some fast transfer activities by signing Matheus Cunha, but wants to add more quality to their forward line in the Coming -Weeks
Malick Fofana is depicted with a Manchester United shirt after coming up as a target for the Red Devils. The young Lyon wing player is already connected to United, Chelsea and Liverpool this summer.
But while he emphasizes his work before the preseason is underway, Fofana has published an update that sees him in United Colors. On his Instagram, the 20-year-old wing player has uploaded photos of him who trained the third Kit of United from 2022/23.
The luminous green shirt shows the name and the number of Marcus Rashford on the back. Although every prospect that Fofana plays besides the English international seems unlikely with Rashord that is expected to leave this summer.
Reports in France suggest that the future of Fofana could be elsewhere before Lyon returns to the training on July 7. The Belgian is said to be appreciated higher than Rayan Cherki, who joined Manchester City for £ 34 million, and Chelsea has already concluded a contract with the French club.
An exit for Fofana could now be more likely after Lyon Ligue 2 was relegated after not providing financial guarantees to the watchdog of the game. The former Ghent AAS scored five goals and offered four assists in 29 games in Ligue 1 and made his Belgium debut in November.
Prior to this summer, Fofana changed his representatives and signed at ROC Nation Sports. But his former agency, BF Sports partner, has previously claimed that a move to Liverpool would be the dream of Fofana. Earlier this year they told Africafoot: “The choice of the heart would be Liverpool.
“He has the potential to enter the rotation, and above all we would like to see him follow African legends such as Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and El-Hadji Diouf. He has the profile to succeed in the Premier League.
“He has qualities that are comparable to those of Amad Diallo from Manchester United, namely speed, impact and the ability to create opportunities. There is no doubt that he can shine.
“For him this would be an opportunity to continue his development and especially to show his talent in a competition that is in favor of the transition game. However, he will have to choose the right club, because the competition is fierce about the (English) channel.”
United wants to strengthen their forward line this summer, but Ruben Amorim is still waiting for the Red Devils to add to their first signing. Matheus Cunha arrived earlier in June in Old Trafford in a £ 62.5 million deal.
The Red Devils have seen several bids for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo. Brentford is holding for a fee in the vicinity of £ 65 million and it is still to be seen whether United returns with an improved offer.
Mbeumo has expressed his wish to move to Old Trafford, with also interest from Tottenham. However, it must see if United turns to other goals or pay what Brentford requires.
