Trent Alexander-Arnold has made his feelings clear about new Liverpool boss Arne Slot as he discussed the Dutchman's successful tenure so far.
Slot joined the Reds in June after Jurgen Klopp shockingly announced in January 2024 that he would be leaving Liverpool at the end of the 2023/24 season.
Since joining the club, the former Premier League manager has guided Liverpool to 18 wins, two draws and just one defeat in his first 21 games in charge – an impressive win rate of 85 percent.
Alexander-Arnold revealed his new coach's impact in the dressing room, as well as his 'stunning' tactical approach.
“The style he coaches with, the style we play with and the identity we have as a team, that's something you can see,” the England international told TNT Sports.
'We all enjoy it, he gets the best out of players, that's all you want as a player. We are all willing to learn to improve.
'That's what you want, he is someone who will coach that with us. As you've seen, the guys have been into it from day one. You need that as a new manager. If you have guys willing to learn and get feedback, then you're halfway there.”
Slot has introduced a more tactical style of pressing, compared to Klopp's ruthless physical approach, which Alexander-Arnold has adopted seamlessly.
The 26-year-old marveled at the new manager's meticulous methods and explained that, through repetition, his football philosophy has already impressed the team.
'The tactics are also astonishing. “To be honest, I don't think anyone would have said we would be as good as we are,” he continued.
“When I look back on the first few days I met him, it's not that big of a surprise to me now – because of the depth and detail he has.
“And the level of detail he goes into, I'm really not surprised that we look so good as a team because he drilled that into us.”
Liverpool are reportedly working hard to keep Alexander-Arnold this summer, with his deal set to expire at the end of the season, which would be a huge loss for the club.
The Merseyside native is a boyhood Liverpool fan and has been with the club throughout his career. But because no contract extension has been agreed, he is increasingly linked with a move to Real Madrid.
For Alexander-Arnold – an emblematic figure at the club, vice-captain and arguably the best right-back in the world – leaving for nothing in the summer would be a debilitating blow to the Reds.
