Villarreal face second Premier League summer sale

Villarreal could be confronted in the coming weeks after a team start after several transfer offers have landed in Castellon.

Marcelino led his silk to the UEFA Champions League qualification at the end of 2024/25, but despite the financial injection that is offered with it, the club still wants to sell different key names.

If Marcelino can collect the expected funds, he can afford his own squadrefit and his conversations in July more than three expected rooms intensified before a return of the preseason.

The first name on course to go to the Villarreal exit is Spain International Alex Baena to agree with Atletico Madrid after a € 50 million deal.

A movement for Baena is part of ambitious plans for Diego Simeone, while the Argentinian coach is looking for Matteo Ruggeri and Johnny Cardoso with the trio cost with € 100 million.

When that deal is packed, the next Villarreal -Domino falls, Thierno Barry, while Everton is haunting him.

Barry has a release clause of € 40 million in his contract and David Moyes is ready to activate it as the first major signing of the new Bramley Moore era on Merseyside.

Villarreal has also hinted that they could accept a little less than the full compensation if the conditions are positive of Everton.

Losing Baena and Barry will cause concern about who can bring in Marcelino as replacements, but the sale may not be finished there.

Reports from Mundo Deportivo indicate that defensive star Sergi Cardona is followed by various Premier League clubs, with a release clause of € 15.5 million in his deal.

Cardosa was previously connected to a move to Serie A, but that was not extradited at the end of the season and England could now be his destination.

All three movements can yield € 105.5 million for Villarreal for the 2025/26 campaign.
