Jorgen Stranden Larsen today became a permanent Wolves player after his first season-hose loan from Celta Vigo last season.
After he was impressed by his debut Premier League campaign, Strand Larsen will now stay in Molineux until 2029 after the striker had reached certain clauses in his contract that automatically turned his loan.
The Norwegian has had a major impact on gold and black in the last 12 months, while he led the line in front of Vitor Pereira and scored 14 goals in the top flight.
Since the Netto in Wolves' opening Home Game of the 2024/25 campaign, Strand Larsen has proven itself as an important gear in the machine of Pereira and ended the season with the most goals for Wolves of a Premier League -Debutant in history -the overcome of Raulez's 2018/19 record.
The 25-year-old found the net in many memorable Premier League victories during his first season in Old Gold, while he also became the very first Wolves player who scored in four consecutive victories in the competition when he helped the team to the historic six-in-a-Row Run.
The Sudu Player of the Month Award earned his shape during the spring, which continued in an invincible April for the men of Pereira.
“It was a good first season in the Premier League,” said Strand Larsen. “I am proud of what I have done. I was able to take the steps rather earlier than I did before. Earlier when I moved to a new country, I needed more time to go in and score goals.
“As a striker, the team needs you to score the goals and to be at the end of the crosses, so to score 14 goals – and to come back after my injuries and a small dip of shape – it was a good season for me in that respect.
“Because Vitor and his staff came in, I scored eight goals and seven goals in seven or eight games, so it was a good end to the season, and as a team we went in a really good way for next season.”
After the time spent with the Norwegian national team to start his summer, Strand Larsen was able to enjoy some much needed peace with his family and friends, before he returns to the training in Compton Park later this month.
But now his future has been secured in Molineux for another four years, and with the addition of his former Celta teammate and friend, Fer Lopez to Pereira's team, the striker is looking forward to going back to work and to kick it even further.
“Hopefully we can all come back in a good shape, get the working boots back on and have a nice preseason to go again,” he added.
“It will be good to have a preseason together with Vitor, the coaches, the staff and the players, because that clearly helps. We will have more time to work on things that we cannot work on during the season, and it also gives the coaches more time with us.
“We showed last season that we can beat everyone, and we are also a very difficult team to beat, and that is what we want to strive for. Of course we want to show that again next year, so hopefully we can build on it.”
