La Liga has won an appeal with which Real Madrid is investigated by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), it was unveiled on Tuesday.
Real Madrid has often attracted the attention of La Liga President Javier Tebas, who spoke for and against the position of the club of various topics. But one that he has been fiercely against has been their use of Real Madrid TV to release videos that referees are investigating the leadership of their matches.
Famous RMTV released a video about Ricardo de Burgos Bergoetxea, who was the referee for last season's Copa del Rey, who almost led them to retreat from the showpiece against Barcelona when the official responded during a press conference. But she has not stopped that since then, with further pieces that have been released.
And it is these videos that Real Madrid could put in trouble, in which IU Sport (via Diario AS) reports that Cas will start an investigation into the case after La Liga had imposed a profession to have tried the case at the Tophof in Sport.
The original complaint from this case came back in February 2024, where it was submitted by Sevilla. La Liga supported the Andalusian club, but it was rejected by the match committee of the Spanish football federation. Several professions were then submitted by both parties, but without happiness.
Cas has already referred the matter in the past, but on that occasion they quoted that they “had no disciplinary power to act”. But after it went through ordinary justice, it is now on their desk again and they have been told to open the disciplinary procedure against Real Madrid.
It is still to be seen how this situation takes place, but for now it is a constant investigation against Real Madrid.
