Arsenal has completed their first signing of the summer transfer window with Kepa Arrizabalaga who participated in a reduced price £ 5 million deal from Chelsea.
And from his colleague Spain International Martin Zubimendi is expected to join in particular after a deal had been agreed with Real Sociedad. A movement for Brentford -midfielder Christian Norgaard is also close to the completion of the bees and admits that they are “happy” to see an important player of the Thomas Frank Era continue.
But Arsenal's search to find a new center to bring them from second place to the top, continues with little movement around Benjamin Sesko or Viktor Gyokeres. Here are the stories to keep an eye on in and around the Emirates.
Kepa -official
Arsenal has confirmed the signing of £ 5 million from keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea. The Gunners have been tested for the Spain International, which will be backup and competition for the current NO1 David Raya.
Arsenal has activated a buy-out clause of £ 5 million in Kepa's contract, which means that he leaves Chelsea for a bargain costs seven years after he had moved to Stamford Bridge for £ 71.6 million, making him the most expensive custodian in the world.
Kepa, 30, who won 13 senior caps for Spain, spent on loan in Bournemouth last season, but was open to the switch to Arsenal to give himself a new challenge.
Arsenal is expected to confirm the signing of the real Sociedad -midfielder Martin Zubimendi, who has agreed a £ 51 million switch while Arsenal is still looking for a left wing player and striker.
Gyokees blows
Sporting Lisbon is confident to complete a deal of € 55 million (£ 47.2 million) with Crystal Palace for their defender Ousmane Diomande in the coming days – to ensure that the Portuguese side is even less busy selling coveted striker Viktor Gyokeres for a reduced prize.
Arsenal and Manchester United have appeared at the front of the row for the Sweden star Gyokeres, but Sporting has made it clear that they will accept nothing less than their asking price of £ 85 million for their top scorer.
“Happy” Sale
Director of Brentford of Football Phil Giles admits that he is “happy” that Christian Norgaard could move to Arsenal – present the DANE with the chance of adding silverware to his CV. The Gunners keep in conversation to land the midfielder while they look to strengthen their own ranks.
Giles said Sky Sports: “Arsenal approached us about Christian in the last two weeks. I think it is fair to say that it is more likely than not. We have to go through the entire process, tick all the boxes and then we will see at the end.
“He has been a fantastic player than us, incredible. I am actually happy that at this stage, 31, he is the chance to try to win some trophies in this phase of his career.”
