Premier League champions Liverpool have announced various changes to the coaching staff of Arne Slot, including naming Giovanni van Bronckhorst as the new assistant of Arne Slot.
Van Bronckhorst, 50, the most recently served as head coach of Turkish Super Lig-side Besiktas for his resignation in November 2024. Prior to his Turkish company, the former Arsenal, Barcelona and Rangers Left-back, the head coach at Feyenoord, Rangers and Chinese Outfit Guangzhou R&F.
With Feyenoord, the 106-meal Dutch international won the first Eredivisie title of the club in 17 years and two KNVB Cup titles. Van Bronckhorst also won the Scottish Cup with Rangers and made the 2021-22 UEFA Europa League final with the Scottish Giants before they claim the Turkish Super Cup with Besiktas in 2024.
Van Bronckhorst replaces John Heitinga in the coaching staff of Arne Slot. The former Everton defender left his position in May to take the position of head coach at Ajax.

Together with Van Bronckhorst, Slot brought in the Spanish goalkeeper coach Xavi Valero after the departure of Fabian Otte and former World Cup winner Claudio Taffarel.
Valero previously worked in Liverpool under Rafael Benitez, who would follow the goalkeeper coach towards Internazionale, Chelsea, Napoli and Real Madrid. Valero worked for the last time at West Ham, with whom he joined the Fortuin of Hebei China in 2018.
Otte leaves Liverpool after one club, while Claudio Taffarel says goodbye to Anfield after four years.
