Barcelona open to selling 21-year-old star wanted by Chelsea

Barcelona has now returned to the 1: 1 rule of La Liga, but they can still raise money to ensure that Joan Garcia and Nico Williams can be registered. A number of candidates for sale have been identified and a new player has now been added to the list.

Ansu Fati has already left as Monaco, while left back Alex Valle came to Como in June. Other players who could leave include Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, Andreas Christensen, Pablo Torre and Pau Victor, while it was recently reported that Fermin Lopez could also leave if a large selection came in.

And surprise is not the only surprise candidate that Barcelona could leave during the summer transfer window, which was opened on Tuesday. As reported by Sport, Marc Casado can also leave.

Casado had a great outbreak during the first half of last season, but he eventually lost his place to Frenkie de Jong. Although he remains an important player for head coach Hansi Flick, he is expected to fall into the pecking order for the 2025-26 campaign, with Marc Bernal to return from his ACL injury.

Casado would have Pedri, De Jong, Gavi and Bernal for him in the pecking order in the defensive midfield, which will probably mean a reduced playing time. And that is why Barcelona is open to sales when a large selection arrives.

Chelsea is interested in signing Casado and they appreciate the 21-year-old at € 30 million. But while Barcelona is open to negotiations, it would need a “much higher” offer to close a deal. Atletico Madrid also graduates from La Masia as an alternative to Johnny Cardoso, although it is expected to be completed in the following week.

In May, Barcelona -sports director Deco revealed that Casado would get a new contract at a certain moment in 2025, but these plans can now be put on hold if there is a genuine chance that he could be sold.
