Chelsea land transfer boost as £21.5m deal agreed with Premier League team

Chelsea has been busy on the transfer market this summer and after completing deals for Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, the blues have been set to cash in one of their keepers

Djordje Petrovic will stay in the Premier League with the Serbian goalkeeper who joins a transfer that Chelsea will get a cool £ 21.5 million at Sunderland.

Petrovic, 25, spoke last year in the loan with the Blues Sister Team, Strasbourg, last year in France and would like to play and play football regularly instead of returning to Stamford Bridge, where Chelsea is already connected to various keepers this summer.

The Serbia International was omitted outside the Blues team for the World Cup Club for that reason to lead the new season.

And Petrovic will find a new home with Sunderland that pushes to get a deal for the former New England Revolution Star.

As reported by the Telegraph, Sunderland is close to sealing a dive of £ 21.5 million to bring Petrovic to follow their promotion via the play-offs of the championship in May.

If they get a deal over the line with Chelsea, Petrovic would become the latest addition of big money to become a member of the black cats, who splash the money in an attempt to survive next season.

They also close for a £ 17.3 million deal for the Saint-Gilloise midfielder, Noah Sadicki, who underwent a medical on Wednesday. They have already concluded a permanent deal for lending star Enzo Le Fee and have signed Habib Diarra for a club record compensation.

Petrovic will compete with Anthony Patterterson for the number 1 berth in the stadium of Light.

He originally drew two years ago for Chelsea and made 31 first team performances under Mauricio Pochettino during his first season in Stamford Bridge. But since then, Robert Sanchez has been installed as the first choice of the blues under Enzo Maresca, with Filip Jorgensen and Mike Penders also in the building.

Chelsea tried to sign Mike Maignan van AC Milan for the club of Club before talking to the Italian giants about a switch for the Frenchman.

It is still to be seen whether they will indicate that interest again – or focus on another keeper – before the start of the new season, although reports have since indicated that Maresca is satisfied with his current goalkeeper options.
