Liverpool -footballer Diogo Jota placed a flowing message to his wife Rute Cardoso only a few days before he was found dead after a car accident in Spain.
The tragic news emerged in the early hours of Thursday morning after the emergency services in Northern Spain discovered that Jota and his 26-year-old brother Andre, who was also killed in the crash.
Jota's tragic death has sent shock waves all over the world and to add to the tragedy, only 10 days after the father of three married his childhood love Cardoso.
After he tied the decision, it seemed that his last public message was up to his wife to cherish his love for her after their marriage in Porto.
Two days ago, Jota Cardoso left a remark about Instagram after his wife wrote 'My Dream Came Ware' after their wedding.
In response, the 28-year-old wrote: “But I'm the lucky one.”
The crash took place on the A-52 in the province of Zamora. The road in Spain is an important route from drivers who leave Noord -Portugal.
Emergency services in the Castilla and Leon region confirmed the crash.
'The 1-1-2 Castilla y León Operations Room received various calls in which a vehicle accident was reported at KM. 65 of the A-52, in the municipality of Cernadilla, Zamora. It was reported that a car was involved in an accident and the vehicle was on fire, “read a statement.
'1-1-2 informed the Zamora Traffic Police, the Zamora Provincial Council Fire Brigade and the Sacyl Emergency Coordination Center (CCU) of this accident.
“From there, a medical emergency unit (UME) and the medical staff of first -line care (MAP) of the Mombuey Health Center were sent, which confirmed the death of two people on the spot.”
His death was confirmed by Pedro Proenca, head of the Portuguese football federation.
He said in a statement: 'The Portuguese football federation and all of Portuguese football were completely destroyed by the death of Diogo Jota and André Silva, this morning, in Spain.
'Much more than a great player, with nearly 50 internationalizations for the National A -Team, Diogo Jota was an extraordinary person, respected by all teammates and opponents, someone with an infectious joy and a reference in the community itself.
'On behalf of me, and on behalf of the Portuguese football federation, I express my deepest participation in the family and friends of Diogo and André Silva, as well as Liverpool FC and FC Penafiel, the clubs where the players were respectively.
'The Portuguese football federation has already asked a minute of silence this Thursday for a minute of silence, before the match of our national team with Spain, in the European Championship for Women.
'Lost from two champions. The disappearance of Diogo and Andre Silva represent irreparable losses for Portuguese football and we will do everything to honor their estate every day '.
In their own statement, Liverpool 'destroyed' was left by Jota's shock -dead.
Various fans of Liverpool gathered in Anfield on Thursday morning to lay flowers and messages in honor of Jota, while the world of football fell into mourning.
The Reds posted on Thursday morning on Instagram: 'Liverpool Football Club was destroyed by the tragic death of Diogo Jota.
'The club has been informed that the 28-year-old died after a traffic accident in Spain together with his brother, Andre.
'Liverpool FC will currently not give any further comments and the privacy of Diogo and Andre's family, friends, teammates and club staff are asked, will be respected if they try to deal with an unimaginable loss.
“We will continue to offer them our full support.”
Jota started his football career at the Portuguese outfit Pacos de Ferreira before moving to Atletico Madrid in 2016.
During his time at the Spanish side, he underwent two loan spells at Porto and Wolves before completing a permanent transfer to the Premier League club in 2018.
Two years later he completed his £ 41 million move to Liverpool – where he made more than 100 performances for the club on his way to winning the Premier League title last season.
