Ilia Topuria was warned by the rising UFC star Mauricio Ruffy while looking for revenge for Charles Oliveira.
Last Saturday, Ilia Topuria became the new UFC light weight champion when he separated Charles Oliveira from consciousness in the first round of the UFC 317 Main Event.
With his victory, 'El Matador' continued his climb to become the biggest star in sport, and successfully dethroned the Islam Makhachev as the Pound-for-Pound number one.
Now reigning about the 155LB division, there are many options for the Spanish 28-year-old with Arman Tsarukyan, Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett who all wait for a potential title fight.

Mauricio Ruffy Vows to avenge Charles Oliveira
However, it is a currently non-rating star who has sworn to avenge the loss of Charles Oliveira by putting an end to Topuria and his perfect 17-0 record.
Earlier this year at UFC 313, Mauricio Ruffy scored the biggest victory of his career to date when he eliminated Bobby Green with a knockout of the annual candidate.
And after his victory, the Fighting Nerd was immediately emphasized as a guaranteed future star in sport, and UFC commentator Jon Anik claimed that he would probably pick up UFC Gold in the near future.
The Brazilian recently teased that he has some 'crazy' fighting news on the horizon and in a new statement he sworn to take revenge for his countryman by beating 'El Matador'.
“Brazil has given me a mission. Charles fans gave me a mission. And if Charles -fan himself – Topuria can't wait. One or two fights (and I will fight for the title), as I said before.
“But those who hold the belt will be my goal, so Topuria, I have already written it down for you. Enjoy your time, celebrate your moment. After one or two fights we meet in the Octagon,” said Ruffy.

Topuria vs Ruffy could be one of the most exciting battles in recent years
'One shot' Ruffy has a few more ways to go before he is considered for a UFC light weight title shot, especially with the top of the line that is already hidden with different contenders.
Nevertheless, the Brazilian has previously plagued a potential fight against old competition than Hooker, and with a victory over 'Hangman', Ruffy would undoubtedly place himself in the title interview
