League was paid to Liverpool Striker Diogo Jota, who died tragically on Thursday after a car accident in Spain. The younger brother of the 28-year-old, Andre Silva, was also killed.
A number of Jota's Liverpool teammates brought their tribute to him after the news, and joined them was Trent Alexander-Arnold, who had been playing together with the Portuguese earlier this summer prior to his Real Madrid relocation.
Alexander-Arnold went to social media and wrote a sincere message after confirming the death of Jota.
“It is so hard to find the right words when your head and heart are struggling to accept that someone you care about so much has disappeared. Diogo, your family was your world. They were everything. Because Rude, his children, and his parents, all our hearts are broken. And for a large team. Rest in peace, Diogo.”
Jota was a beloved figure in Liverpool and Alexander-Arnold was one of his many friends on Merseyside. It is understandable that the Real Madrid man is deeply sad in the news that he will not be able to fully digest for a while because he is involved in the club World Cup in the United States.
Jota, who is survived by his wife Rute Cardoso and three children, had previously been in this career in the books in Atletico Madrid, but he never appeared for Los Colchoneros before he left for Premier League Side Wolves in 2018, after a successful loan in Molineux. He came to Liverpool in 2020 and earlier this year he won the Premier League title and the UEFA Nations League with Portugal, which Spain beat in the final.
