Robert Whittaker wants to end his UFC career with a world title shot

“The Reaper” does not want to go softly in that good night because he focuses on an explosive end of his UFC career, which includes a world title fight.

Whittaker is planning his career earlier, instead of ending later, with four more fights planned to get him in the title.

He spoke with Fox Sports Australia, where Whittaker revealed that his plan was to win his next four fights, to participate in a title fight and to end his career on top of the UFC.

Whittaker said: “Four fighting. I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I see – yes – four. I want four more. That's me.

“I see that the stepping stones had to do to do what I want to do. Four battles bring me to that title shot, brings me to a position, you know, you end up at the top – to have that fairy tale.

“So size, I work towards it.”

There are some big names for Robert Whittaker in the UFC Middleweight ranking

Although his plan to move forward and earn a title shot, is admirable, it will not be as easy as it is the Australian hunter.

Whittaker is at #5 in the UFC Middleweight Rankings, behind Champion du Plessis and five top candidates.

He is also behind Israel Adesanya, who defeated Whittaker in 2021 and 2019, while the Nigerian-Kiwi hunter is in fourth place in the ranking.

For him, three of the toughest hunters in the UFC are. Khamzat Chimaev, Sean Strickland and Nassourdine Imavov will be a tough test for Whittaker, who will have to compete with at least some of them to jump up the ranking to a title shot.

Winning his next four fighting is a possibility, especially for someone who is experienced as the former UFC Middleweight Champion. However, Whittaker will have to be at his best if he wants his fairytale -like end.
