Jon Jones is tipped to return from retirement to participate in the planned UFC fight by President Donald Trump in the White House.
Trump has regularly appeared at UFC events in recent years and has been credited by Dana White because he should be one of the first to have the promotion in a public location.
While he is back in office as the 47th President of the United States, the appreciation of the 79-year-old for MMA De Octagon seems to be a major role in next year's 250-year anniversary for the signing of the declaration of independence.
During a meeting at the Iowa State Fairgrounds on Thursday, Trump announced a UFC title fight for July 4, 2026, which took place on the Witte House Lawn.
“We're going to have a UFC fight,” said Trump. “Think about this on the site of the White House. We have a lot of land there. We are going to build a bit, they are not, Dana is going to do it.
“Dana is great. Somewhat. Goes a UFC fight, championship fight, full fight, such as 25,000 people.
“We are going to do that as part of 250,” Trump added. “We are going to have some incredible events, some professional events, some amateur events, but the UFC fight will be a big problem.”
President Trump announced his plan in Iowa to have a UFC match in the White House during the kick -off for a year of festivities to celebrate America's 250th birthday on July 4, 2026.

Jon Jones under the UFC hunters who could see fans fighting in the White House
Trump's news quickly spread over the MMA community and led to a common question: who would fight on the lawn of the White House?
Many quickly called for a suitable US vs. UK Battle, and a prominent matchup that recently not surprisingly collapsed, came up in me.
“The 250th anniversary of the signing of the declaration of independence. It must be English hunter and UFC heavyweight champion, Tom Aspinall vs perhaps the greatest American MMA -hunter of all time, Jon Jones.”
“Perfect opportunity for Jon Jones to retire.”
“Of course an American will head. Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall. USA vs England. Book it.”
“Jon Jones is retiring.”

Those who have firmly passed from the idea that Jones is fighting that Aspinall fought, looked at their choices elsewhere.
“Kayla Harrison vs Amanda Nunes. Izzy vs Strickland 2.”
“Colby (Covington) will make the main event a non-title fight in that map.”
“It must be Ilia (Topuria), the biggest star since Conor (McGregor).”
“Don't know about the main event, but Bryce Mitchell will certainly be on the map.”
UFC has only one American champion left
One of the names mentioned by Fans can be the most likely choice, given its status as the only ruling American champion of the UFC.
Kayla Harrison submitted Julianna Pena to UFC 316 with a kimura to be crowned the new Bantamweight queen. That result saw her join Jones as one of the two American title holders on the largest stage in MMA at that time.
With 'Bones' weeks later retired and are being replaced by an Englishman on the heavyweight throne, Harrison is now the only American champion who flies the American flag.
Whether she would be open to defending her title in the White House is still to be seen, although after the fight with Trump in the Prudential Center of Newark, her party might suggest that she would like to do that.
