A teenage footballer in Poland is in a critical condition and fights for his life in the hospital after he was involved in a car accident in which his older sister killed.

KSOWERY JENEWSKI, 17, who plays before Legia Warsaw, was in a vehicle that was off the road and bumped with a tree, and tragically claimed the life of his brother or sister.

The incident took place in Goslice, near the city of Plock in Central Poland.

Firefighters, police officers, an ambulance team and an air ambulance hurried to respond, but the 18-year-old woman died on the spot despite resuscitation attempts.

The police said it has not yet been determined who was behind the wheel.

Early indications suggest that the Toyota had not made it before the crash.

“A Toyota Yaris left the road for inexplicable reasons and hit a tree,” a police spokesperson told Polish newspaper Proszlad Sportowy. 'The 18-year-old sister of the football player died on the spot and the 17-year-old football player was taken to the hospital.

'The causes of the accident are unknown, but according to the first findings the vehicle did not move at high speed.

Jezewski plays for Legia's Under-17 Kant and represented his country in the same category last fall, and played in two friendly matches against Albania.

The talented striker was previously on the books in the Academy of Wisla Plock.
