Tottenham is said to be interested in signing Genoa defender Koni De Winter – at the height of the summer.
Traces are said to keep an eye on £ 21.5 million Belgium International as a possible replacement for Cristian Romero.
That's because Atletico Madrid is admirers of Romero and could take a step for him, although the Londoners will demand more than £ 60 million for their Europa League winner.
The winter at the age of 23 is four years younger than Romero and still builds his reputation as a center-back.
The Star born in Antwerp spent three seasons as a regular starter in the Serie A – first on loan from Juventus in Empoli and Genoa, and now permanent for the latter.
Talksport reports that Tottenham keeps an eye on him, although Inter Milan also wants to do a deal.
The finalists of the Champions League apparently want to do a swap deal for the winter and offer Forward Valentin Carboni, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
In football terms, Tottenham and Inter Milan can offer comparable projects for the coming season.
Both are in the Champions League, and both are under the custody of new managers – Tottenham with Thomas Frank and Inter with Cristian Chivu.
Tottenham broke their 17-year-old silverware Hoodoo last season when Ange Postecoglou led them to Europa League Glory.
After completing a point behind the Serie A title winners Napoli and making the Champions League final, it could be claimed that Inter offers the better prospects of a trophy.
De Winter spent his youth career in various academies in Belgium before he joined the youth arrangement at Juventus in 2018 and eventually graduated from the first team.
However, the 6ft3 in star only made a few trips for the senior team.
Last year he received his first Belgian cap and in 2025 the versatile defender added three more.
Tottenham has already added three new faces to the team this summer.
Winger Mathys Tel has joined Bayern Munich for £ 30 million, Center-Rug Kevin Dando has registered for £ 21 million from Lens and, as arranged in September 2023, the young defender Luka Vuskovic from Westerlo has arrived for £ 9.3 million.
