Real Madrid's good recent form continued on Saturday with a routine 3-0 win over Girona. Jude Bellingham, Arda Guler and Kylian Mbappé scored the goals Los Blancosalthough it wasn't one of them that got the most attention from the home fans in Montilivi – that was previously saved for young defender Raul Asencio.
Asencio was taken out of the starting line-up by Carlo Ancelotti, who opted to place Aurelien Tchouameni alongside Antonio Rudiger in the center of defence. He was introduced as a substitute in the second half, after which he was regularly targeted by Girona fans whenever he touched the ball.
The reason? Sport says the reason dates back to September 2023, when Asencio and three other Real Madrid academy players were accused of distributing a sex tape of a minor.
Asencio has denied any wrongdoing in the matter, and Real Madrid are still comfortable with him in the first-team squad. Curiously, it was recently reported that the defender could join Girona in the summer.
